Some Relationships Were Never Meant to Be…

It’s easy to beat yourself up after a split and blame yourself for what happened. It’s also easy to idealize your Ex, and glorify your relationship once it’s gone. When you are in pain it’s easy to focus on the positive parts of your relationship, and fantasize about getting back together.

However, it is also true that relationships end for a reason. In my role as a therapist and “breakup recovery expert” I’ve never talked to anyone that went through a bad breakup who was really enjoying their partnership in the months before it ended. In fact, many relationships can become quite toxic before they finally gasp their last breath.

Shifting your thinking back to what this relationship was really like for you can help you feel better about how and why it ended.

All the best,

Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby
